Kei Nishikori has brushed aside Stephane Robert with a straight-sets win in the first round of the Australian Open.
Nishikori made the much stronger start to the game and took the first set 6-1 with consummate ease.
Robert began to find his rhythm in the second set; however the Frenchman lost out as it ended 6-7 with Nishikori showing his class.
The third set was completely dominated by the Japanese star as he ran out with a 6-0 victory.
The quality of Nishikori's tennis was too much for Robert, allowing him through to the second round.
