Lleyton Hewitt plans to help Australian tennis when he retires

Lleyton Hewitt wants to work with Australia's young tennis players when he retires next year.

Former Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt has revealed that he intends to help coach Australia's young players when he retires next year.

The 34-year-old waved goodbye to Queen's Club, where he has won the title on four occasions, yesterday when he lost in three sets to Kevin Anderson, but has admitted that he doesn't intend to completely leave the sport.

He told reporters: "I'll be helping out Australian tennis in some way. I have tried to help out Bernie Tomic the last couple of years, and I have a good relationship with Nick Kyrgios and know Thanasi [Kokkinakis] really well – we are playing doubles here and at Wimbledon. I feel like I have a really good connection with those guys."

Hewitt is set to make his last appearance at Wimbledon this year, and will retire for good at the Australian Open in January.
