Kyle Anderson survives Lleyton Hewitt scare to progress at Queen's Club

Leyton Hewitt squanders a match point to see off Kevin Anderson, allowing his opponent to battle back and claim a first-round win at Queen's Club.

Kevin Anderson has overcome the challenge of Lleyton Hewitt to advance into the second round of the Aegon Championships.

The world number 16 battled past his stubborn opponent in three sets, claiming a 6-7(5) 7-5 6-2 victory at Queen's Club.

With the opening set going the way of serve a tie-break was required to separate the pair, which Hewitt just about edged after spurning two previous set points.

Hewitt, playing at this venue for the last time, had the chance to wrap up the victory in the second, only to blow one match point in the 10th game to allow Anderson a foothold in the contest.

Having won two breaks of serve, the South African went on to take the set before doing likewise in the decider to progress beyond round one.
