Former British number one Anne Keothavong announces her retirement from tennis.

Former British number one Anne Keothavong has announced her retirement from tennis.

The 29-year-old old started her professional career in 2001 before reaching a career-high world ranking of 48 in 2009.

Keothavong will now join BT Sport as part of the broadcaster's tennis coverage.

"It's been a great career for the past 12 years," she told the LTA's official website.

"I've had an amazing life competing in the best tournaments and making friends along the way."

Keothavong's best showing at Grand Slam was reaching the third round of the US Open in 2008.
