British number one Andy Murray has taken to Twitter to thank his fans for their support after undergoing surgery on a back injury.
The Wimbledon champion has been struggling with the problem throughout the season which forced him to pull out of the French Open in June.
The Scot is unlikely to play again this year, which rules him out of November's end-of-season ATP World Tour Finals at London's O2 indoor venue.
Thanks for all the well wishes, means a lot to me... pic.twitter.com/KokbiW8Y4M

The 26-year-old added: "First thing I said when I came round was "did I win?" #somethingsneverchange."
The problem began at the Rome Masters.
