Andy Murray is unlikely to play another tennis match this season by deciding to undergo a minor back surgery.
The Scotsman has been plagued by back issues throughout the season, beginning at the Rome Masters and eventually causing him to pull out of the French Open.
The 26-year-old recovered in time to win at the AEGON Championships before becoming the first British male in 77 years to win the Wimbledon singles title in the summer.
After failing to retain the US Open title in New York, Murray has decided to have a minor surgery next week, which is likely to put him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.
Murray will be absent for the ATP Tour finals in London.
