Rafael Nadal has claimed that the Olympics will be an important of his plans to return to the top of the tennis world.

Nadal has endured a frustrating season as Novak Djokovic climbed to the top of the world rankings after an impressive 2011.

The Spaniard believes that the Olympics can be a big part of his search for form next season.

Nadal said: "From Indian Wells to Wimbledon and the Olympic Games is where I have to recover my best level."

Despite struggling in 2011, Nadal was part of the Spanish team which lifted the Davis Cup after beating Argentina in the final.
