Spaniard Feliciano Lopez recorded a straight-sets victory over Michael Llodra at the Paris Open this afternoon.
Frenchman Llodra started the encounter brightly and had chances to win the set during a tie-break.
However, Lopez denied his opponent before eventually taking the breaker 9-7.
Llodra's failure to claim the opening set appeared to knock his confidence during the next set, something Lopez capitalised on to win the match 7-6 6-3.
World number 21 Lopez will now face another French player, Gael Monfils, in round two.
