Novak Djokovic reaches US Open quarter-finals

Number one seed Novak Djokovic isn't broken as he sees off Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the US Open.

Novak Djokovic reached the quarter-finals of the US Open for the eighth consecutive year by easing past Philipp Kohlschreiber this afternoon.

The top seed wasn't broken once as he dealt with Germany's Kohlschreiber, seeded 22, in just over two hours.

The first set was the quickest, with Djokovic winning the first five games before taking it 6-1.

In the second the Serb broke to go 6-5 in front before Kohlschreiber wasted his only break point of the match that would have taken it to a tie-break.

Djokovic, who has been a finalist at Flushing Meadows for four straight years, then broke right at the start of the third, going on to close out the match 6-4.

The 2011 champion will next play the winner of the match currently taking place between Andy Murray and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
