Andy Murray will reportedly be recommended for a knighthood after making history by becoming the first Brit in 77 years to win the men's singles Wimbledon title.
The 26-year-old secured his second Grand Slam win with a 6-4 7-5 6-4 victory over Novak Djokovic on Centre Court yesterday.
Prime Minister David Cameron, who was at SW19 to witness the match, and Deputy Nick Clegg are both keen to recommend the Scotsman for the honour, according to the Daily Mail.
Murray was awarded an OBE in the New Year's honours list following his gold-medal win at the London 2012 Olympics and his triumph in the US Open.
