Triathlete Rachel Joyce finishes second at Ironman World Championships

Great Britain's Rachel Joyce finishes second in the women's event at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, with Daniela Ryf winning the race.

Great Britain's Rachel Joyce finished second in the women's event at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, as three British athletes made the top 10.

Switzerland's Daniela Ryf won the race ahead of Joyce, while fellow Britons Susie Cheetham and Lucy Gossage finished sixth and 10th respectively.

Ryf won the race in 8:57:57, finishing more than 13 minutes ahead of Joyce, with Australian Liz Blatchford third.

Jan Frodeno won the men's title, while David McNamee was the top Briton in 11th, with Joe Skipper and Tim Don finishing in 13th and 15th place.
