Elise Christie apologises to fellow speed skating finalists

Elise Christie tweets an apology to her fellow 500m speed skating finalists after today's race, which saw her stripped of a silver medal.

Great Britain Winter Olympian Elise Christie has tweeted an apology to her fellow speed skating finalists after today's short track 500m race at the Sochi Games, which saw her stripped of a silver medal.

After trying to make an early dart down the inside track at the Adler Arena Skating Centre, Christie nudged into Italy's Arianna Fontana, who then wiped out South Korea's Park Sueng-Hi in the process.

Despite her second-place finish, the 23-year-old from Livingston was punished for her actions, as Fontana was moved up to win the silver medal, while Park took bronze.

Christie will be back in speed skating action next week, when her preferred 1,000m event takes place.ID:137780: cacheID:137780:1false2false3false:QQ:: from db desktop :LenBod:restore:1773:
