Team GB's Eve Muirhead: Winning bronze was "magical"

Eve Muirhead says that winning the bronze medal in the women's curling in Sochi was a source of great pleasure for her.

Great Britain skip Eve Muirhead has described winning the bronze medal in women's curling at the Winter Olympics as "magical".

Team GB women got the better of their Swiss counterparts 6-5 in Sochi on Thursday.

"Yes, it's long overdue," the 23-year-old told Olympic.org when asked how it felt to have won a medal at the 2014 Games. "I have worked hard for this day. It was a close match but when I won the bronze, I could not help tears falling down my face. This is a magical moment."

"The pressure is there but it's good for us," Muirhead said when asked if she and her teammates were under pressure.

"We have been able to medal for our country and live up to their expectations. It gives me happiness that so many people back home are supporting us."

Britain have won four medals in Sochi so far.
