Great Britain snowboarder Jamie Nicholls has revealed that he plans to all out in his first appearance at the Winter Olympics.
The 20-year-old will get his campaign underway later today in the qualifying round of the slopestyle event in Sochi, and Nicholls has admitted that he is ready to go at 100% if he needs to.
He told the Yorkshire Post: "My aim is to go out there, have fun, enjoy the experience and land the run and hopefully do well. I'm not going to go there and just do a safe run like you would at the World Cups.
"When you train you try to go at 100% because at least you know if you go full out in training and you do crazy runs, then when you go to a competition you can maybe go to 80 per cent and you're going to land it.
"At the Olympics and I'll go at 80%, knowing if I need to, I've got that extra 20%."
There have been criticisms of the course at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park, after Norway's Torstein Horgmo was forced to withdraw from the Games as he sustained an injury during practice.
