Paula Walker has said that John Jackson had a "fantastic run" during the four-man bobsleigh event at the Winter Olympics.
The Great Britain crew, led by the 36-year-old pilot, finished fifth, just 0.11 seconds off the podium.
Jackson's partner, who represented Britain in the women's competition, told BBC Sport: "I am ashamed to say that I cried at the end but he had a fantastic run and the amount of speed he had proves how well he was driving. There were just a few guys out there who were a bit better.
"I think it's amazing that John's come from where he has been this last year [with the Achilles injury] and to still achieve what he has with fifth in the Olympic Games. I'd be quite afraid of them next year when they're back on the track in the World Cup."
Jackson has confirmed that he plans to continue competing for the next couple of seasons.
