Lizzy Yarnold: 'Nerves can play a part'

Great Britain skeleton racer Lizzy Yarnold admits that nerves will play a part when she gets her Olympic campaign underway later today.

Great Britain skeleton racer Lizzy Yarnold has admitted that nerves could play a huge part when she and her fellow competitors get their campaigns underway on Thursday.

The 25-year-old has posted the fastest time during her practice runs this week and has been highlighted as one of Team GB's best medal hopes following an excellent season.

She told BBC Sport: "This track is a lot of fun to slide on. There is no more pressure that anyone else could put on athletes that we don't put on ourselves, but if the butterflies are flying in the right direction, it can really help your performance."

The heats for the skeleton get underway later today.
