David Ryding of Great Britain finishes 18th in the men's slalom, with Mario Matt of Austria claiming the gold medal in Sochi.

Great Britain's David Ryding has finished 18th in the men's slalom, while Mario Matt of Austria took gold at the 2014 Winter Games.

Matt became the oldest winner of the Olympic slalom title as he recorded a time of 1:41.84 to beat his competitors in Sochi.

The Austrian's compatriot, Marcel Hirscher, claimed the silver medal.

Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway finished third and clinched bronze.
