The Arizona Cardinals have confirmed that they have placed running back Andre Ellington on season-ending injured reserve.
The 25-year-old was diagnosed with a sports hernia injury as he struggled in his side's week 13 clash against the Atlanta Falcons, while he missed their matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The club have taken the decision to end Ellington's season due to the problem, and have replaced him on their 53-man roster with defensive back Chris Clemons.
Ellington had recorded 1,055 yards from scrimmage for the Cardinals this season, scoring five touchdowns.
