Buffalo Bills wide receiver Robert Woods has admitted that he punched Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones to prove he was a "man".
The rookie was ejected from the game after striking Jones as the duo clashed on a run play in his side's win over Joe Philbin's team on Sunday.
"Of course you shouldn't throw a punch in a football game, but if you're playing outside the rules, sometimes you got to be a man sometimes," Woods told ESPN. "But I learned my lesson and just can't do it again."
Woods has 39 receptions this season for 560 yards and three touchdowns.
