Carolina Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman has praised the team's new wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.
Gettleman has compared Benjamin to ex-New York Giants wideout Plaxico Burress, who helped the Giants win the Super Bowl in 2008.
The Panthers chose Benjamin with their first-round selection, making him the 28th overall choice of the 2014 Draft.
"When I watched Kelvin, I thought I was watching a young Plaxico Burress," Gettleman told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "He's a better athlete than people realise, he plays faster than people think.
"He made some 'OMG' catches in the rookie minicamp. He's talented, he has good focus, he learns well. And it's important to him. It's really important to him."
Gettleman also praised Giants choice Odell Beckham, who he declared is the only receiver from the Draft class that won't require route work during off-season camp this summer.
