Chicago Bears defensive end Jared Allen has revealed that he expects a hard time from the Minnesota Vikings fans when he returns to his old club in the 2014 season.
Allen said that he enjoyed all six of his years in Minnesota and after the game is sure that the supporters will show a mutual respect, whatever the result.
"Minnesota has great fans so they're going to boo me," he told ProFootballTalk. "Absolutely. I'm sure I'll get some cheers later but absolutely they're going to boo and why shouldn't they?
"I now play for a division rival but I love the fans in Minnesota, I had six phenomenal years there. That organisation, that state will always be a part of my life and again there is nothing but respect and joy and everything so it'll be a fun time to play back against them but yeah I expect some boos."
Allen managed 85.5 sacks during his six seasons with the Vikings.
