Jason Garrett: 'Miles Austin is making progress in recovery'

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett reveals that wide receiver Miles Austin is steadily heading back to full speed following a hamstring injury.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett has revealed that wide receiver Miles Austin is making steady progress in his recovery from injury.

Austin sustained a hamstring injury during his side's win over the St Louis Rams and returned to action against the Washington Redskins but was used sparingly.

"I thought Miles looked okay," Garrett told ESPN. "He's clearly working his way back into it. I don't think he looked as explosive as he did early on in the year.

"He's clearly trying to get his hamstring healthy. He came through the game, looked like he was able to function, everything we asked him to do. But he's a work in progress coming back."

The Cowboys are 3-3 in their season after week six.
