Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre believes that Peyton Manning will cope with the pressure of returning to his former team on Sunday.
Manning takes his unbeaten Denver Broncos side to the Indianapolis Colts this weekend in what will be his first return to the Lucas Oil Stadium since his 14-year spell there ended last year.
Favre was once in a similar position as he returned to face the Packers, with whom he spent 16 seasons, as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, and he thinks that Manning will "do fine" despite the nerves of playing against a former team.
"Not that he needs any advice but, for me, I had never been more nervous and anxious before a game as I was then. So being able to think clearly, as my emotions were running high, was a monumental feat. But he will do fine," Favre told ESPN.
Colts owner Jim Irsay has added a little spice to Manning's return by claiming that he got rid of the four-time MVP in order to win more Super Bowls.
