Denver Broncos star Peyton Manning hails receivers following record-breaking start

After three more touchdown passes on Monday night to break an NFL record, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning feels his receivers deserve a lot of credit for the impact they're having this season.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has praised his receiving corps following a third win in row in which he threw for over 300 yards.

Manning continued his fine start to the season in the Monday night victory over the Oakland Raiders, breaking Tom Brady's NFL record for most touchdown passes after three games, totaling 12 for the campaign so far.

However, the former Indianapolis Colts star insisted that the praise couldn't all be on his shoulders, with his teammates making his job easier.

Manning told Broncos.com: "Guys are making good plays and we're getting strong yards after the catch in the passing game. It makes a difference and gets the drives going. The guys are open at the right times and that helps me out a lot too.

"We can still correct some things, like being stopped on third and one and settling for field goals. We're still leaving a couple of touchdowns out there I think.

"But I'm pleased because we started well - a touchdown on our first series was what we'd wanted to do all week. We'd practised that. It's been a positive start."

The Broncos will be looking to extend their good run when they host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
