Calvin Johnson has insisted that the Detroit Lions are capable of winning the Super Bowl.
The Lions have never played in the NFL showpiece, and have reached the playoffs just once since 1999.
However, the wide receiver told NFL Network: "We need to win a Super Bowl. That's the number one thing. That's the number one thing [and] should be for every team going into the beginning of the year. We're definitely in a place where we feel we could do that.
"We're going to go out and bust our butts every day because [head coach] Jim [Caldwell] is such a great guy, a great leader for our team. And he's helped bring us together, and we're doing a lot of stuff on our own off the field to keep that camaraderie going."
The Lions finished third in the NFC North last season with a 7-9 record.
