Detroit Lions release defensive tackle Vaughn Martin

The Detroit Lions confirm that they have released defensive tackle Vaughn Martin after just three months at the club.

The Detroit Lions have released defensive tackle Vaughn Martin.

The club only signed Martin as a free agent in March following his release by the Miami Dolphins in 2013.

However, Jim Caldwell's side have chosen to part ways with the 28-year-old after three weeks of their off-season workouts.

Martin has recorded 79 tackles and three sacks in his five years in the NFL.
