Andrew Luck: 'Plenty of room for improvement'

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck admits that his side still need to improve despite beating the New York Giants 20-12 in a pre-season match last night.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has admitted that his side still need to improve ahead of the new NFL season.

Luck threw two touchdown passes as the Colts overcame the New York Giants 20-12 in a pre-season game last night, finishing the match with nine completed passes from 13 attempts.

The result was a significant improvement on their 44-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills last week, and Luck did see positives to take out of the performance.

"It wasn't perfect. There is still a whole bunch of room for improvement but it was good to get in a rhythm, it was good to put points on the board. What a great job by our defense, holding them to three points on some short fields," Luck told The AP.

"We knew we wanted to come out here and show what the horseshoe is about. It wasn't perfect but we did some good things against a very good outfit."

The Colts face two more warm-up games against the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals before their regular season gets underway at home to the Oakland Raiders on September 8.
