The Houston Texans missed out on a bye week after losing to the Indianapolis Colts in their final game of the regular NFL season.
Both sides were already assured of a place in the playoffs, but the Texans needed a win to be sure of a week off and home-field advantage.
The Colts welcomed back head coach Chuck Pagano, who missed most of the season to receive treatment for leukemia.
Deji Karim scored a touchdown from a 101-yard kickoff return, which swung the close game in the Colts favour.
Indianapolis sealed the win with a 70-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Luck to T.Y. Hilton.
The loss for the Texans and wins for the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots mean that Houston will face the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs next weekend, while the Colts travel to the Baltimore Ravens.
