Joe Philbin denies Dion Jordan trade reports

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin denies that the club were willing to trade Dion Jordan just one year after selecting him third overall in the 2013 Draft.

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin has denied reports that the club were willing to trade 2013 first-round Draft pick Dion Jordan after just one season.

The 24-year-old struggled for playing time for the Dolphins as he found his place taken by Olivier Vernon, but Philbin has revealed that he is expecting him to make a marked improvement in his second year in the NFL.

Philbin told the Miami Sun-Sentinel: "I don't know where that came from. As I said, I'm expecting him to make a significant jump from year one to year two.

"We think once we get him acclimated better to the position he's playing, we give him more [repetitions], quality reps that he really didn't have last year, he's going to make nice development."

Jordan notched 26 tackles and two sacks in the 2013 season.
