Tom Brady: 'Easy choice to stay with New England Patriots'

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady insists that it was an "easy" decision for him to extend his contract as he cannot imagine playing for anyone else.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has insisted that it was an "easy" decision for him to extend his contract at the franchise.

Brady agreed a three-year extension during the off-season that will keep him with the Patriots until past his 40th birthday, also freeing up $15m in salary cap space for the franchise.

The 36-year-old's contract is not as lucrative as other star quarterbacks command, but he believes that the Patriots will give him the best chance of winning and admits that he couldn't imagine playing for anyone else.

"I think for me at this point, it's about the quality of my life, and where I feel like, the thing that's most important for me is to win, and where do I feel like the best place for me to win is, and that's an easy choice," Brady told Fox Sports.

"There's no place I'd want to be, this is the only place I'll ever want to play. For the only owner I'll ever want to play for, for the only coach I'll ever want to play for. We've had something special going, and I want to do everything I can to continue making it special.

"Being here, going into my 14th year, feeling better than I've ever felt physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, I'm in a place where I've been through so much stuff, now I'm at a point where I really feel like everything that's happened over the course of my 13 years has prepared me for this. I'm in a great place with my being, with my role on the team, with my relationship with my teammates, my family life, how comfortable I feel in my own skin."

The Patriots will face the Buffalo Bills in their regular season opener on September 8.
