The New York Jets have confirmed that they have used the option to extend the contracts of linebackers Calvin Pace and Jason Babin, but have declined the deal to sign Chris Johnson.
Pace notched five sacks for the Jets in the 2014 season and played in all 16 matches in Rex Ryan's final year at the club, while Babin had two sacks as he was also an integral part of the defense.
Todd Bowles's men have made the decision to move on from running back Johnson as he struggled to produce during his time on the field, while also being arrested for weapons felony charges last month.
Johnson recorded 633 rushing yards and one touchdown for the Jets last season and will become a free agent when the league year officially ends next month.
