The New York Jets have begun exploring their options after meeting with quarterback and free agent Josh McCown at the NFL scouting combine on Wednesday.
McCown was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, and could be an alternative to Geno Smith for the Jets.
"Every quarterback out there, we'd have an interest in," general manager Mike Maccagnan told reporters.
McCown also met with the Buffalo Bills and the Chicago Bears this week, while the Jets will also consider selecting a quarterback with the sixth overall pick in the Draft.
Smith has compiled an 11-18 record in his two seasons with the franchise, and will be expected to compete with any new arrivals for a starting role.
