The Oakland Raiders are prepared to release quarterback Terrelle Pryor next week if they are unable to trade him, according to a report.
The 24-year-old started the 2013 season as the club's starter, but due to an injury in mid-season, he lost his place in the side to backup Matt McGloin and also struggled in his return late in the year.
Oakland traded for Matt Schaub from the Houston Texans to become their starter for the 2014 campaign, leaving Pryor fighting for the backup spot on the roster but the club are ready to cut their losses on him, reports Fox Sports.
Pryor threw for 1,798 yards along with seven touchdowns to 11 interceptions in the 2013 season.
