Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has insisted that there will "always" be competition for the starting quarterback role in his side.
Michael Vick and Nick Foles both competed for the spot during the 2013 season, with the latter eventually ousting the former after the veteran picked up an injury.
"There's always competition. I don't think Nick's going to think, 'I can go out and throw 12 interceptions in a row' - which he'll never do - 'and I'm your guy,'" Kelly told reporters.
"If you also have a guy who's not competing to be the starter - what if Nick gets hurt? All of a sudden, the other guy goes, 'Oh, my God, I'm not ready to play because I thought Nick was going to be the guy.'"
Vick could leave the team this summer due to his contract expiring, with Matt Barkley expected to replace him as back-up to Foles.
