Pittsburgh Steelers keep playoff hopes alive with win

The Pittsburgh Steelers keep their hopes of reaching the playoffs alive with a win over the Cleveland Browns in their NFL clash.

The Pittsburgh Steelers kept their NFL playoff hopes alive with a win over the Cleveland Browns and can secure a berth if the San Diego Chargers lose to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Steelers took the lead on their first drive of the game. Ben Roethlisberger led them downfield and then fired to Jerricho Cotchery on a swing pass, and he powered through two tackles in the endzone for a nine-yard score.

Pittsburgh doubled their lead as Roethlisberger once again moved his side downfield before handing the ball off to rookie running back Le'Veon Bell, who ran over the right side of the line and was pushed into the endzone for the five-yard score.

Cleveland tried to respond just before the break, but could not get anything going on the offensive side of the ball as Jason Campbell struggled.

The Steelers seemed to ease off the pedal in the second half as Shaun Suisham added field goals from 30 and 32 yards, which were to be their only scores of the remaining two quarters.

The Browns prevented a shutout as Fozzie Whittaker collected a short pass on a crossing route from Jason Campbell and ran into the endzone for a 35-yard score, but it was too little too late for Rob Chudzinski's side.
