The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly keeping tabs on wide receiver Austin Collie and could offer him a contract before the new season.
With Michael Crabtree out after undergoing surgery on an Achilles tendon injury, the 49ers are short on numbers in the receiving department.
According to NFL.com, the 49ers were impressed with Collie when he was training with them in June, but are waiting to offer him a contract.
The former Indianapolis Colts player has made 173 receptions in his four years in the NFL.
