San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has vowed to win a Super Bowl, having missed out in last season's final.
Kaepernick picked up an unwanted piece of history in that match as he became the first 49ers quarterback to lose a Super Bowl and also the first to throw an interception in the NFL's showpiece event.
However, the 25-year-old is eager to move on from last season's disappointment and put to bed any suggestions that he can't perform on the biggest stage.
"In my mind, it's going to be, 'He can't win the big game,'. To me, that is what I hear now," ESPN quotes Kaepernick as saying.
"[The interception] happened, but I'll be back. I'm going to win one. That is my goal right now, to go out and prove that, yes, that happened, but that is not who I am. That was a one-time deal."
San Francisco will start the 2013 NFL season against the Green Bay Packers on September 8.
