The San Francisco 49ers recorded their first win of pre-season as they came from behind to defeat the San Diego Chargers 21-7 at Levi's Stadium.
The Chargers went ahead in the first quarter as quarterback Philip Rivers found tight end Antonio Gates in the endzone for a 10-yard strike.
Jim Harbaugh's side responded in the second as Phil Dawson kicked a 39-yard field goal and Vance McDonald collected a pass from Blaine Gabbert for a six-yard touchdown.
The 49ers saw out the victory in the second half as Dawson added another field goal while running back Glenn Winston ran in from 27 yards.
The Cincinnati Bengals edged out the Arizona Cardinals to claim a narrow 19-13 victory at the home of Super Bowl XLIX, the University of Phoenix Stadium.
The Bengals took the lead as cornerback Terence Newman intercepted a pass from Carson Palmer and returned the ball 54 yards for a touchdown. The visitors kept themselves ahead in the second quarter as Mike Nugent kicked two field goals, while Jay Feely added one for the Cardinals.
The home side got themselves level in the third quarter when Chandler Catanzaro fired a 23-yard field goal through the posts and Drew Stanton found John Brown in the endzone for a 27-yard touchdown.
However, the Bengals secured the win in the fourth courtesy of two field goals from Quinn Sharp.
