Jeff Fisher: 'St Louis Rams want run game consistency'

St Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher believes that the team need to be consistent with their run game.

Jeff Fisher has said that the St Louis Rams need to be consistent with their running game.

Rookie running backs Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham have emerged for the NFC West side in recent weeks, combining for 862 rushing yards so far this season.

The head coach told reporters: "It starts upstairs. Guys have done a great job upstairs with the scheme, with the game plan and then carrying it over to the practice field. It just doesn't stop with the line.

"I thought our receivers did an outstanding job. You see the effort that we got out of Chris [Givens] and [Austin Pettis] on Tavon [Austin]'s long run. It doesn't happen if not for them, and they did an outstanding job all day blocking.

"The run game's turned around a little bit. We're pleased with it, but you have to stay consistent with it and do it week after week."

The Rams face the San Francisco 49ers this weekend.
