Border staff have dropped their plans to strike at London Heathrow Airport tomorrow ahead of the start of the Olympic Games on Friday following peace talks.
Immigration workers were expected to leave their duties for the day, which is thought to be the busiest day on the Olympics calendar as spectators are due to fly into England's capital.
Britain's Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt criticised the Public and Commercial Services, who planned the strike, and claimed that the majority of border workers would want to take part in one of the "biggest days in their professional career".
Only one in five union members took part in a ballot for the proposed strike.
