Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva has revealed that she intends to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The 30-year-old was expected to call time on her career following the conclusion of her campaign in London, where she won a bronze medal.
However, she has admitted that her failure to win gold has inspired her to continue onto Brazil.
"I wanted to leave on a golden note, with my head held high. That did not happen in London," she said.
"In 2016 I will be 34, still young enough to compete. Why not? I will go to Rio and get my gold back."
Isinbayeva, who currently holds the world record, previously won gold at the Games in 2004 and 2008.
