Great Britain's Paralympic double amputee sprinter Richard Whitehead makes the T42 100m final after finishing third in his heat.

Great Britain's Richard Whitehead has secured a spot in the men's T42 100m final after finishing third in his heat.

Whitehead, who won gold in the men's T42 200m final, managed to record a personal best time of 12.97s to qualify.

The Brit started off slowly as expected but managed to find his stride in time to clinch a third qualifying place just under Scott Reardon of Australia.

Heinrich Popow set a German and European record by winning the heat in a time of 12.43s.
