Cramp forces Katarina Johnson-Thompson withdrawal

Cramp forces Katarina Johnson-Thompson to withdraw from the final of the 100m hurdles at the British Championships.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson pulled out of the final of this afternoon's women's 100m hurdles at the British Championships with cramp.

Earlier in the day, the 22-year-old, who has just returned to action following a knee injury, clocked a time of 13.74 seconds in the heats.

However, a matter of minutes before the final got underway at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, news broke that the Liverpudlian had withdrawn as a precaution.

As a result, there was no showdown between Johnson-Thompson and Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill, who finished third in a season's best time of 13.10 seconds.
