Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Garnett was ejected from Monday night's game against the Houston Rockets after he head-butted Dwight Howard.
The incident came in the first quarter as the pair tussled in the paint, with both men initially engaging in a shoving match.
However, tempers flared further as Garnett threw the basketball at his rival before leading in with his head as they came face to face.
Multiple players and security personnel tried to hold Garnett back, while Howard was given a technical foul for throwing an open-handed slap that hit the Nets star on the neck.
Garnett has now been suspended for one game by the NBA for his actions. He was not made available to reporters after the game.
