Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt has revealed his pride after seeing his side fall short in the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors claimed a 105-97 win to secure a 4-2 series triumph and keep Cleveland waiting for a first title in franchise history, but Blatt refused to be critical of his players.
"I'm proud of everyone in our organisation today. It's tough to lose," he told reporters. "Not every story has a happy ending. Doesn't mean it was a bad story.
"We never made an excuse and I won't do that now. We played our hearts out. The Warriors were better."
Golden State forward Andre Iguodala was named NBA Finals MVP for his role in delivering the team's first title since 1975.
