NBA roundup: Wins for Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Saturday's games in the NBA as the Golden State Warriors, the Chicago Bulls and the Dallas Mavericks all record wins.

The Golden State Warriors notched up their 40th win of the NBA season as they cruised to victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Draymond Green ensured that the Western Conference leaders made a strong start, scoring 20 to leave them 16 points up at the break and the Knicks with too much to do without top-scorer Carmelo Anthony, who was rested.

The Chicago Bulls dominated their game against the New Orleans Pelicans to improve their record to 31-20 this season.

Anthony Davis kept the visitors in contention early on, but the forward picked up a shoulder injury which forced him out of the rest of the game, allowing Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose to put the Bulls ahead before the break, and they never looked like slipping up.

The Dallas Mavericks tied the scores deep in regulation before forcing a win in overtime in their clash with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Dirk Nowitzki completed the late rally for the hosts with a three pointer, wiping off an 11-point deficit inside the final two minutes before Chandler Parsons hit his stride to lift Dallas to the win in the extra period.

The Washington Wizards ended their five-game losing streak as they thrashed the Brooklyn Nets, with all 13 of their players contributing to the score.

John Wall and Rasual Butler led the way, combining for 32 as Washington opened up a 30-point advantage by the end of the third quarter, to allow all five starters to rest in the fourth.

The Milwaukee Bucks held on to secure a narrow win over the Boston Celtics, leaving them with six wins from their last seven outings.

Brandon Knight finished as the Bucks' top-scorer with 26, adding just two of his points in the final quarter to let the Celtics back into the game, but that shot came with six seconds remaining to make sure of the win.

The Philadelphia 76ers continued their recent strong form at home as they clinched their fourth straight win at the Wells Fargo Centre by beating the Charlotte Hornets.

Robert Covington added 11 of his 22 points in the third quarter as the Sixers pulled away after the break to end a run of three straight wins for the Hornets.

The Utah Jazz snapped a three-game losing streak as they eased to a win over the Sacramento Kings at EnergySolutions Arena.

Gordon Hayward led the charge for the home side, adding 30 as the Jazz pulled away in the first quarter and they never trailed after the opening 12 minutes.

Results in full: Chicago 107-72 New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets 77-114 Washington Wizards, Golden State Warriors 106-92 New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, 81-89 Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers 101-111 Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics 93-96 Milwaukee Bucks, Sacrmaento Kings 90-102 Utah Jazz
