Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson has offered to help the franchise recruit free agents this summer in order to see the team return to past glories.

However, the former star has admitted that it is up to the front office to decide whether or not they allow him to.

"I've been in a lot of different things with the Lakers, but it's up to them. Once they make their decision, they say 'Hey Earvin, can you put in a call to so-and-so?'" he said, ESPN reports.

Johnson will likely be given a role in pitching to free agents who are deemed to be targets of the Lakers management.
