Orlando Magic star Channing Frye suffered a sprained left MCL during practice on Thursday, but the franchise has not released a timetable for his recovery.
The veteran forward underwent an MRI scan on his knee which showed no structural damage, which encouraged the Magic as there were no ligament tears, according to Bleacher Report.
Magic coach Jacque Vaughn revealed that Frye collided with another player in practice which caused the injury, but he was relieved as the knock could have been much worse.
Orlando had hoped that the 31-year-old would play a key role this season in helping the development of several youthful players such as Victor Oladipo.
Frye has averaged at least 10 points and five rebounds per game in the past four seasons.
