Irish lightweight boxing champion Katie Taylor has spoken of her "relief" to finally claim an Olympic gold medal to go with her four world titles.
Taylor won 10-8 in today's final to become the first Irish Olympic boxing champion in 20 years and she has revealed that she is relieved to win.
"It's what I've always dreamed of," Taylor told BBC Sport. "I've envisaged this moment so many times before but it's better than all my wildest dreams to be sitting here as Olympic champion as well as World and European champion.
It's a big relief to finally get the medal around my neck."
Taylor has been competing as an amateur since 2005.
