Ireland boxer Katie Taylor has revealed her disappointment after losing to Poland's Mira Potkonen in the quarter-final stage of the 2016 Olympic Games.
The defending lightweight champion was bidding for back-to-back Olympic golds after triumphing at London 2012, but fell at the first hurdle in Brazil courtesy of a split-decision.
Taylor branded the contest "a very close fight", insists that she "should really be beating those girls" due to her standing in the sport.
"It was a very close fight. It's very hard to talk about. When you are in the middle of the fight it probably looks very different from the outside. It was a close fight and congratulations to her. But I should really be beating those girls," Taylor told BBC Sport.
Taylor lost each of the first two rounds in front of a vocal Irish contingent.
